It is an honor and pleasure to invite you to the 53rd Annual Meeting of
Central Atlantic Conference of the United Church of Christ!
CALLING THE PASTORS, MEMBERS & FRIENDS OF
THE CENTRAL ATLANTIC CONFERENCE!
Greetings to you in the blessed name of our Liberator and Redeemer, Jesus Christ!
Many of you recognize the significance of this gathering to the future, not only of those of us who make our home in the CAC but also of the United Church of Christ as a whole. As we gather we will celebrate our Still Speaking God who give us the 3 Great Loves of Children, Neighbor and Creation, who has showed up for us—again and again—through these days of loss, grief, transformation and hope.
The world around us is changing. Values and norms that have bound us together so that we can live in peaceful relationship with one another across our human-made divides are under attack. It seems the more technologically advanced we become, the further away from the hope of Christ we seem to drift. Gathering as a people of God has never been needed more than in “such a time as this.”
Our theme, New Horizons · New Hopes · Real Justice, will provide the framework around which we will re-anchor ourselves to the promises of Christ and claim for ourselves anew the spirit of the prophet Isaiah when he proclaimed:
“I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. “
So, it shall be for us, as we gather to do that new thing of God in this new season of life in the Central Atlantic. I’m counting on each of you to join us!
Rev. Denise Mason Bullitt
Interim Conference Minister
