God is Still Speaking,

Welcome CAC's Newest Associate Conference Minister

July 17, 2017

While known to the CAC for many years – first as a committed, passionate and compassionate lay leader active in his local church-First & St. Stephens, the Chesapeake Association, and eventually… the Board of Directors of the CAC who was next called to ordination as a part-time volunteer staff person for Justice & Witness  – the Rev. Alex Vishio has come full circle with us.

In my 5 months with you, I’ve come to respect and treasure the many gifts Rev. Alex brings to this conference and have had the distinct honor of working with him and our CAC Board to create a path through which Alex becomes CAC’s newest full-time employee as Acting Associate Conference Ministereffective July 1, 2017. While Alex will continue to work in service to our Justice & Witness work throughout the conference with others – and particularly, the Rev. Marvin Silver – beginning this month, Alex’s call and service is directed more holistically toward supporting our CAC’s mission to support our local churches and pastors. This means he will be working with the entire CAC Ministry Team to address concerns and hopes around authorization & standing, congregational vitality, conflict resolution, leadership development and, the building of ecumenical relationships.

As per the CAC Board of Directors, presently during this transitional season, all new hires will be in an “acting” capacity to afford maximum flexibility as the work of this season continues. Though Alex will be working collectively with our entire Ministry Team to address any and every need essential to the work of our pastors, leaders and churches – he has been asked to give particular focus to supporting the churches of Shenandoah and Catoctin
