God is Still Speaking,

Stewardship

A giving church is a living church!

The Central Atlantic Conference (CAC) Stewardship committee is a sub-committee of the CAC Board’s Budget & Finance Working Group.  The stewardship committee shall present fund raising and stewardship recommendations to the CAC Board via the Budget & Finance Working Group.

The mission of the stewardship committee is to educate and assist local churches, their clergy and lay leaders, in their stewardship and fund raising efforts.  The committee is also charged with raising funds in support of the ministries of the CAC as well as the ministries of the United Church of Christ nationally and globally.

To fulfill our mission, the committee has drafted several bulletin inserts and is planning a spring retreat. The bulletin inserts can be downloaded from this page. We encourage you to use the OCWM information with your congregations.

Stewardship Retreat March 17 and 18 - POSTPONED until Fall

The Stewardship Committee is sponsoring a retreat to be facilitated by Rev. Sara Wilcox of the Center for Progressive Renewal.  The retreat will be held in Catonsville, MD at St. John's UCC and will provide education for local UCC clergy and lay leaders on the theology of generosity, current stewardship and fundraising practices, electronic giving, and tools and resources to use with your congregation to establish year-round programs. Breakout sessions will be geared to rural, urban, small and large churches - there will be something for everyone!  There will be a nominal cost for the retreat, however the majority of the costs, including food and overnight accommodations for attendees, are being underwritten.  Scholarships for attendees will also be available.  The agenda is available here.
