Official Call


The Board of Directors of the Central Atlantic Conference hereby calls the Fifty-Second  Annual Meeting of the Central Atlantic Conference, United Church of Christ to convene on Friday, June 10, 2016 at the University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware.

Voting Delegates: “Each local church shall be entitled to representation at meetings of the Conference by the chief lay officer designated by the local church and two lay delegates plus an additional lay delegate for each additional 500 members, or major fraction thereof, above an initial 300 members, and one (1) additional lay delegate provided such delegate is under 30 years of age. Representation shall be based on the last published edition of the Yearbook of the United Church of Christ.”

Voting Members: “Each authorized minister who has standing in any Association of the Conference shall be a voting member.  Members of each Association’s governing body, members of the Conference Board of Directors, and the Conference delegates to General Synod shall be voting members.  Elected members of Boards and Instrumentalities of the United Church of Christ residing in the boundaries of the Conference shall be voting members.

  • REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS MAY 1, 2016- any registration received after May 1 will be subject to a $50 late fee and will not guarantee housing.
  • If paying by check, complete the pdf registration form and mail it to the Conference office, along with your check. Information can be entered directly onto the form before printing out.
  • If mailing, complete a registration form for each person.  If needed, print as many copies as necessary. Please complete all relevant information as it applies to you. All fees are per person.
  • Full time registrations includes program cost, housing, two breakfasts, lunch, dinner and the Conference banquet.



Independence Hall - On campus housing will be in the Independence Hall  Independence Hall are 2 bedroom suites with a common bathroom in between .

You are encouraged to bring an extra blanket, towels and pillow.  You will be provided with sheets, a pillow, blanket bedspread towel and washcloth.

The University will charge a $110 fee for any lost room keys.


Hotels – We have blocked rooms at the  Courtyard by Marriott, adjacent to the John M. Clayton Hall and the Embassy Suites which are about two miles from the Clayton Hall. The Conference Registrar will make all hotel reservations.  We will assign hotel rooms based on the order in which the registrations are received.  You will be notified of your accommodations.

Other hotels - you must make your own reservations for other hotels.  The Annual Meeting commuter rate will apply. On your CAC registration form follow the instructions for “commuter” participants.



Conference Business -  new business will be posted as it becomes available  - You will be notified by email as items are added.  Hard copies will not be available at the meeting


Boundary Awareness Training will take place on Thursday and Friday, and UCC Polity Institutes will take place Friday.


Workshops – There will be two workshop sessions on Saturday as well roundtable discussion on Sunday morning.  We encourage you to stay over to participate in the both workshop sessions




Childcare - Childcare will be provided on campus during plenary sessions, workshops and worship.  Childcare will not be provided at meal times.  This service is free to attendees.  Please contact Arnetta Jones by email at
